Stasia Nyx
Certified Social Worker · CSW
“I help individuals discover the strength within their stories.”
ABOUT STASIA
Hello, my name is Stasia Nyx (pronounced staw-see-uh; she/her). I’m a Certified Social Worker providing compassionate, trauma-informed therapy to adults. I hold a Master of Social Work from Aurora University, as well as degrees in Education and Art History.
A wide range of personal and professional experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience, relationships, identity, and the systems that influence our lives.
HOW I WORK
My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe each person brings a unique story, set of experiences, and collection of strengths into the therapy room.
Rather than assuming there is one way to heal or grow, I work with clients to discover what works for them. I’m especially interested in helping people recognize their own power and develop a more curious relationship with difficult emotions.
Instead of spending so much energy trying to avoid anxiety, sadness, uncertainty, or discomfort, we can build the awareness and skills needed to move through these experiences with greater confidence. I sometimes think of this as learning to ride the inevitable waves of life rather than waiting for the ocean to become perfectly calm.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Exploring how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and creating practical paths toward change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Building skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and relationships.
Behavioral Activation
Helping clients reconnect with meaningful activities, routines, and sources of engagement.
Mindfulness & body-centered care
Using awareness, nature, and body-centered practices to ease tension and calm the nervous system.
WHO I WORK WITH
I am passionate about supporting adults through religious transitions and identity exploration, including shifts in belief, changes in community and relationships, exploration of sexuality, and questions of belonging.
I offer a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore these experiences and discover what feels authentic and meaningful to them. You don’t need to have anything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start exactly where you are.
WHAT MATTERS TO ME
Above all, I value authenticity, curiosity, humor, and genuine human connection. Therapy does not have to be about becoming a completely different person. It can be a place to better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and decide what you want your life to look like.
OUTSIDE THERAPY
Outside of therapy, I enjoy plants, art, spending time in nature, and being with my family. I love learning and meeting new people, and I find the world endlessly fascinating.
