Stephani Leiter
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
“Therapy is a team effort. You know yourself and your experiences best, and my role is to listen, support you, and help you make sense of what you’re going through.”
ABOUT STEPHANI
Hi! My name is Stephani Leiter (she/her), and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I became interested in counseling because I believe mental health is just as important as physical health, and everyone deserves a safe, caring place to work through what they’re experiencing.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up as yourself and feel heard, supported, and accepted without judgment. Therapy doesn’t have to be about having everything figured out. It can be a place to slow down, understand what you’re experiencing, and begin finding a path forward.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, life transitions, and the challenges that can come with figuring out who they are and what they want their life to look like.
I’m particularly passionate about creating an affirming and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ clients. I want each person I work with to know they can bring their full identity and experiences into therapy and be met with curiosity, compassion, and respect.
HOW I WORK
I believe therapy is a team effort. You know yourself and your experiences best, and my role is to listen, support you, and help you make sense of what you’re going through. I want my clients to feel comfortable being themselves, knowing they will be met with compassion and without judgment.
My approach is person-centered, which means I want to meet you where you are and focus on what you need. I’m also interested in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the practical skills it offers for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and getting through difficult moments.
Person-Centered
A collaborative approach that meets you where you are and centers your experiences, needs, and goals.
DBT-Informed
Practical skills for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and getting through difficult moments.
Emotion Regulation
Building awareness and practical strategies to better understand and manage difficult emotions.
Identity & Self-Discovery
An affirming space to explore identity, relationships, values, and what matters most to you.
OUTSIDE OF THERAPY
When I’m not studying or working, you’ll usually find me crafting, reading, spending time outside, or hanging out with my two kids and our dog. I love having time to be creative, get outside, and enjoy the little things with the people I love.
